LIVE WELL

We align organizations, sectors, and systems to build quality relationships with leaders in our area with expertise in creating and maintaining good neighborhoods and accessible housing.

HOUSING

At Focus on Prevention, housing is one of our five main areas of focus. We want Stanislaus County to be a place where everyone can find a place to live. We are engaged in ongoing conversations with many sector leaders about affordable housing in our county.

NeighborHoods

Keeping our neighborhoods safe, attractive, and family-friendly is important to all of us who live here.

We recognize that some of our residents struggle in areas of housing insecurity.  Our leadership is addressing the economic roots of this through our connection to the Stanislaus 2030 initiative, and plans are currently in motion to directly address these issues.

Also, robust activity around homelessness issues have been in motion since February of 2018 when the Stanislaus Community System of Care (CSOC) was launched. In April of 2019 the Stanislaus Homeless Alliance was enacted to assess the effectiveness, quality, and availability of homeless services in Stanislaus County.

Focus on Prevention remains fully engaged in ongoing plans to administer social services and supports to the county’s homeless population through our community partners.  We remain active in discussions about increasing shelter options, countering public prejudice towards the homeless, and identifying gaps in resources.
