At Focus on Prevention, we want Stanislaus County to be a place where residents can thrive.

 

Research on health and wellness data points are currently in process in Stanislaus County. The top 5 morbidity indicators in the county have traditionally been: 1) heart disease, 2) cancer, 3) chronic respiratory disease, 4) stroke (cerebrovascular disease), and 5) unintentional injury.  [Source: CDPH Death Statistical Master Files 2010-2012]


We believe issues around health and wellness are very important to the overall quality of life for residents in our county.

We will update these pages and our social media feeds as the results of current research efforts become available.


Stanislaus County Statistics, 2021:

  • In 2021, 84% of surveyed Stanislaus County parents had a BMI indicating they were overweight or obese, up from 72% in 2019.
  • In both 2021 and 2019, Hispanic or Latino survey respondents were less likely than White survey respondents to report that their children had visited a health care provider within the past year.
  • Lack of insurance was the number one reason 2021 survey respondents were unable to receive the health care they needed.
  • Thirty eight percent (38%) of parent survey respondents reported that their mental health was not good for at least one day during the previous thirty days, a sizable increase from 22% in 2019.
